2、For Non Visa-Exempt Countries: 

Option I:  Use the 240-hour visa-free transit policy of China.

Available for 60 exit-entry ports in China

Example: book connecting  tickets for
Canada - > Shenzhen Airport (by Air),  
Shenzhen Shekou Port -> Hong Kong (by Ship) 

Eligibility: Citizens of 54 Countries (including United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, etc) with valid international travel documents and confirmed connecting tickets for flights/trains/ship departing for third countries/regions (Hong Kong SAR included) within 240 hours after arrived in China

Option II: Apply for a visa  at a Chinese embassy or consulate
